Today (23.11.2020) update made with subsequent request to reboot. Doesn't that. Monitor goes from black to gray and remains gray, fan switches off after one second. No prompt for password, nothing, not even after an hour.
The laptop does not respond to Shift or Ctrl & X. Are there any other button options?
Booting from DVD makes little sense, I can't get onto my hard drive without a password. And my password is not accepted anywhere.
Reinstallation not OK, very important data is on my HDD that I have to work with every day.
Linux Mint Cinna 19 (not update to 20), on Lenovo IdeaPad L340, American keyboard. System is LVM password protected.
I only see one solution, take out another hard drive and reinstall it, then transfer your data from the old one via USB adapter.
