Install Windows 7 on Windows 10 laptop?

I have a problem I have a Windows 10 laptop and I would like to have Windows 7 on it. I downloaded software and dragged it onto a stick, i.e. The ISO file. I only have the activation code when I want to boot with the stick, it hangs at the "Windows is starting" screen. On. Unfortunately, I don't know what to do next, I mean it is a UEFI laptop… I would be very happy for more detailed solutions, i.e. I don't even get to install it because Windows 10 doesn't allow it…

Na

You have to set the boot sequence on the stick in the UEFI. However, support for Windows7 will end very, very soon. Accordingly, I strongly advise against using this unless there's really an urgent reason.

Oh, it's not my main PC. Home is Win10. I only want the laptop on Win7 because I notice a fairly high performance weakness.

How do I do that now via the bios under: Boot instead of boot 1 via normal start boot 2 pushed up but the USB stick does not work anyway

Aw

I have no idea why this is made so complicated.

Get a burned Win 7 DVD

It doesn't have to be formatted or anything and just go with it.

Restart, the BIOS does not have to be changed. Because almost every PC in the world (including Läppis)

In the BIOS FIRST the DVD drive starts, exactly to realize something like that.

If there's nothing in it, the computers start up.

The USB drives are only number 3 in the startup sequence.

My DVD drive is defective, so this option is unfortunately not feasible

OK

I also have an internal one for a PC. Too good to throw away. Therefore

if you have the time, ask around maybe you know someone who has an external DVD drive, because current Läppis often no longer have DVD drives. A&V might be a point of contact. Many actually have a delivery service as a cost support and are therefore open.

This will not work because the built-in hardware is from Windows 10 and there are no drivers for Windows 7, so Windows 7 runs slowly in standard mode with low resolution. Most of the time you have no sound.

But I can recommend installing a Linux distribution on the laptop. For example Linux Mint Xfce. This only requires 1/3 of the system resources that Windows would otherwise need. In contrast, even Windows 7 is a lame duck. Here is the download of the ISO: http://mirrors.evowise.com/linuxmint/stable/20.1/linuxmint-20.1-xfce-64bit.iso

Then flash this with this tool https://www.balena.io/...io/etcher/ on an empty formatted stick. Then boot the stick and follow the instructions of the wizard. He will set up the WLAN right away. Have the network key ready. The wizard offers the possibility to delete everything. To do this, select the option "Erase hard drive and install Linux Mint". I also recommend performing a full installation. The latest Firefox, LibreOffice, multimedia components and tools are installed at the same time.

This is what the desktop looks like:

Install Windows 7 on Windows 10 laptop

As you can see, the start menu is divided into categories. That makes the whole thing clearer. The taskbar with clock, volume, network / WLAN also looks familiar.

And this is how you install programs: Linux Mint has application management. It's like an app store. There you can find e.g. Skype, Spotify, Discord, Minecraft and much more.
