Multi-boot system in VM test?

I may plan to set up a multi-boot system on my laptop.

But before I do that, I want to test a multi-boot system in a VM with Windows 10 and Linux. I use VMware Workstation Player 15 for that. Should I select OS as Linux or Windows to create a multi-boot system with Windows and Linux?
