How can I save my scarcely a week old laptop so that it will run smoothly for the next few years?
I have several notebooks.
The Lenovo E330 14 inch I use daily 5 to 6 hours and is already 6 years old. I only replaced the battery last year, because the old one had only 30 minutes remaining.
The Lenovo Y570 15.6 inches I use 2 to 3 times a month just to burn something or to cut videos. He is already 7 years old with a 17 CPU of the 2nd generation. Since I had to replace the battery last week, because the old did not want more.
Then I still have a Lenovo 100S 11.6 inches, if I'm traveling in the house and want to surf elsewhere. I've got it for 3 years and it works smoothly too. I only use it once or twice a month.
Billignotebooks say goodbye after 3 years anyway - there's nothing to help.
For notebooks with thermal problem only helps - do not turn on.
Otherwise, annually testing the interior for dust deposits and cleaning.
At some point you have to change the cooling paste (check from 5 years).
Who tried many programs (installation and uninstallation), goes well with an annual reinstallation of the operating system.
Cheap SSDs make after a few years problems until the sudden death (so [unfortunately] Samsung).
I use TuneUp 2014, but I also have the Win7 Dino running.
My notebooks look like new after 5+ years of daily use of 4-8 hours and work perfectly. Of course you can be unlucky and it can break something, but with reasonable handling a notebook will last forever. If you are careful when surfing and do not install all sorts of stuff, it runs smoothly for a long time without having to reinstall Windows.
