Laptop on screen FPS are lost?

I bought a monitor that has 144 Hertz. Now I have connected it to my laptop. When I played Fortnite before, I had 120FPS with the laptop without any problems. But now that I've connected the screen, the FPS drops from 120 to 30FPS immediately.

Does the transmission really use that much and what can I do about it?

Je

Which cable do you use?

Un

The supplied HDMI cable from the screen

Je

How many Hz is the screen set and what resolution?

Un

144Hz and 1920 × 1080 pixels

Un

Help.

Je

Do you play with a duplicated or expanded screen? Can you change the time so that only one screen is used?

Un

This is the 1st screen I've ever had.

Do the following?:

So, I have now managed to set the monitor to 144Hz, which in itself is progress. The FPS in Fortnite has now increased from 30 to 60, but with 144Hz there should be a lot more in it, right?

Can you help me again there?

Gl

Then you can't get 144 Hz. You need displayport

cl

To get 144HZ, HDMI is not possible.

You need Displayport

Fo

First you have to increase the Hz from the monitor to 144 Hz in Windows. Remember: HDMI only takes part up to 120 Hz.

di

To display 144hz you need a Displayport cable

Te

No, the monitor does not bring you FPS - your PC or laptop must be able to do this on its own. So if you haven't had 144+ FPS before, the monitor won't do you any good.

But why does Samsung supply a 144Hz screen with an HDMI cable when that doesn't work?

But why does Samsung supply a 144Hz screen with an HDMI cable when that doesn't work?

Un

But why do I now have 60FPS instead of 120?

di

Because Samsung would rather deliver an HDMI cable that costs 10 euro than a Displayport cable that costs 30-50

Te

You have to find out what your outlet can do on a laptop. Often the output does not offer the same performance as desktop graphics cards. Even if your laptop achieves 120 FPS internally, it is possible that the output is limited to FullHD 60 fps. You can find information on this on the Internet.

Un

Ok, thanks, I'll do it.

Un

It's stupid too

Un

I searched the Internet, but for my laptop specifically, I didn't find out what the HDMI output does.

Could you see if you can find something?
