MacBook is infinitely slow?

My MacBook Air has been incredibly slow since yesterday and I don't understand why. It's from December 2019, so it's not old, I haven't saved any huge amounts of data on it and mainly use it for university, i.e. Research, emails, etc.

The only thing I've done with it in the past few days was pairing Galaxy Buds with it, but I don't think it's related.

I can barely open websites in Firefox because it keeps timing out. Even just opening Outlook takes 2-3 minutes and restarting the laptop takes forever. Things like emptying the trash, creating a new folder and so on, take far too long.

The Wi-Fi does not work properly either. Checking emails does not work, Spotify is "offline" and it is impossible to open websites in Firefox (only those that I have saved as bookmarks can be opened). It's not because of the Internet, because everything runs quickly on a cell phone.

Oh yes, good question doesn't work on the MacBook either.

Does anyone have any idea why this could be? Because it's pretty frustrating.

Make a backup and reset it

co

The last time i had that i couldn't go to apple shop etc (the login in the background blocked everything because itunes etc everyone absolutely wants the apple account, especially the updater). Helped me to completely reinstall it, or it was just installed over it. Kindly offer this via Network Internet Boot at Apple.

But if there's a system error, it is also in the backup

I would start the "Activity Monitor" program first and see which processes are using the most power, CPU, etc. Then search the names with Google and browse for tips.

Deactivate Spotlight at the same time (there's something about it at Apple).

Possibly. Go to Apple or a dealer, have the hardware checked.
