Do you need a laptop / tablet as a Civil Engineering student?

Hello to all who have studied Civil Engineering. Did you need a laptop or tablet? Was a MacBook better or a normal laptop? Or an iPad?

I would take a laptop with Windows 10. In addition, the software offering in Windows 10 is larger.

I would wait and see what you need in the lectures and what can't be very different from your fellow students. If you still need or prefer a laptop, you still have plenty of time to buy one. It also depends on the lecture.

Sometimes, for example, you have to write everything off the board in maths lectures. This is actually only with a touch screen and pen (I find personally dreadfully fumbling) or paper.
