Empty cardboard box arrived! Who can

My friend accepted my MacBook Air about 2 weeks ago. Since I was still at work.
I was really happy about it. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed when we discovered that the notebook had been stolen.
Of course, I informed the seller directly. A short time later I received an email telling me to report to the police. I did too. Today (about 2 weeks later) I was invited to the police to bring the box over. When I got there, the policeman told me to take my fingerprints. I was completely horrified and a little overwhelmed, do I become suspicious now?

Did everything the policeman wanted me to do, he assured me that we will find the MacBook again. Right now I can't imagine that it will come out who should have the MacBook. It can have gotten over anything. Whether in the factory itself, shipping, in the package car &&& …

Anyway, I talked to the shipping department afterwards & they said that everything would be through with me & I can access my customer account again on Monday.

My question is, is the ad that I made now canceled? Or is there further investigation? First of all, what happens to my fingerprints?
I'm a little confused & overwhelmed with the situation.

can anyone help?

Not in the factory, then the shipping weight would tend to zero. All that remains is the shipping route.

You should be able to find out whether the box was open and sealed again. The police want your fingerprints so that they can determine whether there are other fingerprints on the package.

But there should be a lot of fingerprints on the package. I mean the package was touched by countless people. Whether it was in the shipping department or in the van.
I have to honestly say that I have a little fear / respect for this whole "situation".

Never had anything to do with the police & then something like that 🥺😥

There are sure to be a lot of fingerprints on the package and hardly all of them will be found out. If something was taken out, it must have been unpacked and re-glued.
