How do I stop my MacBook Pro from restarting (mid-2010)?

I have already tried Google search and I already read on the subject, but there was much that somehow does not quite fit my situation and I'm unsure which of these steps are necessary.

It is true that the fans practically always work on high turfs, even at startup. Especially when I play League of Legends he starts very often new (sometimes not at all, sometimes 8 times in a game) which makes the whole game fun, makes winning impossible and will probably eventually end in a spell.

The reboots are not only on LoL, but also 2 minutes after I start the laptop. I just counted 1 and 1 together and suspected that he is restarting due to overheating.

The fans I have already cleaned, they are still loud, but both seem to work.

I then played a round of ARAM to see if it did anything and had to re-live 3 reboots.

Well, there's either the possibility that the fans are just not working anymore and I need new ones or that it is a software problem that you could somehow solve.

In the event that it is a software problem, can someone summarize what options are available to solve the problem? So z. B. Reset something with SMC or something. How exactly does this work out then I find out, just want to know what there's, what I could try. If the hardware needs to be replaced it does not matter, I will not invest any more money in the laptop.

That the fans are loud I do not care, it's me that he should not restart all the time.

I suspect that it is due to the thermal grease (WLP). This can happen with a device that is almost 9 years old.

I would renew it (new thermal compound costs 5 euro-10 euro, if you should have none)

Normally, this is the indication that either the operating system is broken or the hard disk / SSD possibly. So the existing data on a USB / Thunderbolt Stick Save and the Bootmdedium (hard disk / SSD on which the operating system is) can be replaced. Hope I could help.

Or that the CPU gets too hot and therefore shuts itself off, so a new conductive paste is also good.

A computer does not restart at too high a temperature… It slows down the clock, even it does not work anymore, but it certainly does not restart (when booting, the processor clocks to standard clock and the rest of the Hhomework is initialized, very unfavorable, if the CPU is already overheated anyway).

I can only guess but I would tap on the RAM, critical data loss in the operation is such a classic for reboot or BSoD under Windows and that happens i.d.R. If a DIMM or bank is broken.

The SSD I bought new only a year ago and built into the Macbook, because the original hard drive was broken. I do not think it's going to break that fast, it's from Samsung.

ka

I can't do much with the last part. Does that mean the RAM is broken and needs to be replaced, or can you just turn it back by resetting any settings?

It's the original RAM in it, which I think was quite small. So 4 GB, if that means something.

Bo

No, sometimes it helps to run the RAM on lower frequency or higher latencies but Macbooks did not use BIOS and I'm afraid the firmware does not provide such settings.

If you have two occupied banks, you can try taking out a DIMM and then testing both DIMMs separately on each bank. Thus, the problem could be limited.

Bo

In that case, the computer does not restart.

Ba

Actually, but only after a few minutes, which is why it confuses me a bit that he reboots sofofrt
