Why does WLAN disappear when I connect my laptop to the projector?

I bought a projector.
would like to connect my Macbook to it. But somehow I have the problem that when I connect it via hdmi my wlan suddenly causes problems on the Mac and then I can't access YouTube etc. My woan is still displayed but it does not connect or is very weak. But as soon as I pull out the HDMI connection, does my Wi-Fi work again?
(The projector also has its own Wi-Fi receiver, but I don't use it.)

can you tell me why it is and how I can solve it? Vlt settings etc?

2.4 GHz WLAN can be disturbed

through active USB 3.0 ports (USB 2.0 is ok)
through active Bluetooth devices
and also (partly) due to bad HDMI cables (my guess)

Such disorders are discussed wildly here:

(The solution there was to use a "better HDMI cable" and not USB 3.0)

PS:

If you can use 5 GHz Wi-Fi, I would give 5 GHz Wi-Fi a try. Possibly set different SSID's (for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) in the WLAN router for the test and then connect specifically with 5 GHz WLAN and not with 2.4 GHz WLAN.
