Macbook Air M1 or Pro M1?

I want to buy a new laptop and have chosen the MacBook with an M1 processor. However, I'm not sure which one to take…

I would mainly use the Macbook for school, for Netflix & streaming, image editing and incidentally also for games (nothing extremely expensive). I also have an iphone and ipad and enjoy working with Apple.
Actually, I have only tended to the Air with 8gb Ram, but I want to use the MacBook as long as possible and that's why I'm considering whether I should take the Air with 16gb Ram or the Pro.

Thanks in advance for all the answers LG

A MacBook Air is enough for your purposes.

Cr

16 GB is mandatory these days, even the cheapest office computers have that.

Fr

16 GB is standard these days. Better a little more than too little.

Apple is still stupid, 250 euro surcharge for 8GB Ram is very, very heavy.

Of course, 16Gb RAM is recommended in Windows notebooks. But as you can see in tests, the 8Gb of the M1 MacBookAir is sufficient. In very few situations you can see a difference to 16Gb, that would not be worth the extra charge to me. And the 8Gb would (because they are more than sufficient today) also be sufficient in the next few years. But if you really want to use your PC for more than 6 years, then you can already think about whether 16Gb would be necessary. I wouldn't need it even though my applications are not the "easiest" ones.
