Macbook Air or Pro (M1)?

I plan to buy an iPad Air with a pen and a Macbook Air or Pro with an M1 processor. Now I'm not sure whether I really need a Pro or whether an Air would be enough, because especially since I would like to buy an iPad as well, a MacBook Pro would slowly be at the upper price limit for me.

I mainly need the laptop for school, where I always need it all day. But of course, one Air would be enough for school. However, I also started doing 3D modeling and animation with Blender. So I wonder whether a MacBook Pro would be much better suited for this or whether an Air would do the same.

Would be happy for advice

P.S. I would probably buy the version with 16 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD

I also do Blender, but with the Air. The version is not yet adapted to the ARM architecture, but in my opinion it is already working quite well.

I would advise you to use the new air. That's enough. The new processor is really fast. I also have the macbook pro from 2018 with full equipment and I have to say that the air is not much slower.

The new MacBook Air should suit you better. It's lighter, even if only marginally, and the battery lasts longer. You have to assume that future software will be tuned to the M1. Don't worry about that:-)

The processor in the Air and Pro do not differ.

The Pro also has a fan on board.

An Air is enough for your purpose.

I wouldn't buy a Macbook. IPad if you want to use it for 3D modeling / animation a good choice

Take a look at the Ideapad 5 14ALC

Together with an iPad Pro 11 "and pen you would be just above the price of a Macbook Air M1 with 16GB and 512GB SSD
