Unfortunately, I'm not a specialist in the field and would like to know which laptop performs better.

The MacBook Pro from 2018 with:

2.3GHz Quad Core Intel Core i5 processor, 256GB ssd and 8GB RAM, and Intel Iris Plus 655 graphics card

or the cheaper 2019er version with

1.4GHz Quad Core 8th Generation i5

256 GB SSD

8 GB RAM

intel Iris plus Graphics 645

If I had the choice, I would not buy a laptop from Apple. Is nothing more than designer scrap sold dearly. For the price I can easily buy me a normal laptop (AMD or Intel) which is more powerful and cheaper.

Even my AMD laptop from Lenovo (Think Pad E595) with AMD Ryzen 3700U Apu, cost just under 550 euro in a similar configuration and twice as much as the Mac scrap parts from Apple.

But now is good, Apple has his reason to exist

I just hate these people on this platform, just answer the question or just do not write anything…

So I in your place would bring me the 2018 version.

Reason:

Of electronic devices, the performance drops exponentially and if you have a notebook which works extremely well with 1.4 Ghz for new purchase you can expect that it will be useless in 2-3 years. That's exactly what you can find when buying a mobile phone. If you buy the "savings version" of the current year with "new better" technology, it usually does not last as long as the high-end product of the previous year.

No, not really

The computing power of the two devices is almost identical even if the base clock is very different.

In the 2018er you have a slightly better graphics and 4 instead of 2 Thunderbolt connections. The connections are then on both sides, which can sometimes be useful.

The 2018 also has two fans and the 2019er only one. So the cooling system should be better, but I think that only makes itself felt in the volume.

Is not synonymous forum for technical discussion here. Everything suitable for masses sooner or later succumbed to annoyance.
