I'm currently doing an apprenticeship in digital design and currently have a lot of catching up to do at home because I was sick for a week.
Thanks to a discount from the school, I have all Adobe programs at home on my Macbook. We also work with Macs at school.
Now I want to catch up on my things on my laptop and I try to email my Illustrator file in Ai format all the time so that I can still access it at home. (Levels etc)
However, that never works. It always says something like "error PostScript can't open this" and that's just an image that I can insert, without layers or etc.
We don't use our own Adobe connections at school either, so I can't save anything on my Illustrator Cloud.
Is it possible somehow that I can send my illustrator work home from school and just continue working on individual steps and levels?
(We're not allowed to insert USB connections / sticks into the school computers.)
Archive / zip your .ai that's probably the problem. Otherwise just use Google Drive, so save it at school and upload it to your Google Drive or iCloud there. Remember to log out!
Thanks, I'll try it!
Otherwise Wetransfer.com would also be an option. I have already sent myself .ai with this website. I would (if not already done) look at the versions. If you work in school with Adobe Illustrator 2020 and you are using Adobe Illustrator 2019, this can lead to complications. In case you didn't already know.
It worked out great, thanks!
