Can games that have been downloaded on Steam somehow return or give away?

Merry Christmas!

I recently bought a MacBook. I had Sims3 on my old laptop, which I would still like to play there… However, to make matters worse, my old laptop fell down before I received the MacBook and now has a problem with my hard drive.

I now on Christmas Day totally overflowing with joy, about the Christmas offer on Steam for 9 euro made an account and bought Sims 3 … I just assumed that I can thus play sims 3 as usual. But of course I was happy too early and the Sims 3 does not work on MacOS. Now I've wondered if I can somehow return the game (which I do not believe) or give away if the game has not been played yet. Or could I (luckily) be lucky and achieve something when I write to Steam?

P.S: The Sims 3 is for Mac on Origin.
