I bought the new MacBook Air (2020, m1) yesterday. This is my first Macbook and laptop, so I'm not very familiar with it. When I downloaded a game and clicked on it, the Mac said that I didn't have the necessary access rights and that I should call the administrator for help. But since I'm the administrator of the Mac myself, I don't understand. When I went to Users & Groups to see who the administrator is, it said my name - account. Do you know what the problem is?
The mac tries to protect you from unverified software. As soon as you click on the game and the message comes, take a look below
settings - security there should be "open anyway" in the lower area (first tab)
Thanks for your answer! In the lower area it only says that I can either allow App Store or App Store and verified developer app downloads. Or have I misunderstood something? (Besides, this is not an app but a download?)
Here's the well-explained guide that is probably most effective:
And to your question: basically you can open all apps, no matter where you actually only have to say again in the settings: open although not verified. As soon as you click on that, the app / program opens and you can continue
What should i do if the format is not supported?
Option 1) Basically only games suitable for Mac work. Direkt.exe files from Windows are unfortunately not supported at all without additional software.
option 2) Apple switched from 32-bit to 64-bit not so long ago, so only games whose developers have released an update will work
solution to option 1) portingkit works for some steam games that normally only run on Windows.
Basically, as a mac user, one notices exactly with something that it is more of a work machine. There are far fewer games than for Windows computers. If you have enough memory you can install Windows on your Mac with parallels and enjoy the advantages of both worlds. But I would only recommend from 512GB upwards.
