Is it possible to connect a Blu-Ray player to the PC / Laptop?

ch

A real Bluray player (no drive!):

on a PC monitor: no problem

on a laptop: few have a video input; most of them only have exits

lo

If the PC has corresponding A / V inputs, it works. Is it just the question of what the whole thing should be.

a BD drive in the computer should serve the same purpose.

So theoretically, it would certainly be technically feasible.

But usually it should fail already because PCs usually have no HDMI input - and that is a prerequisite that you can display HD content.

Second hurdle is the HDCP copy protection, which must be supported by all involved hardware components.

I would simply install a BluRay drive / burner in the PC. This is much less complicated.

The built-in burner is even better, because of A / V inputs (analog) you will not be able to transport an HD image - and digital AV inputs have not caught my eye with motherboards and GraKas.

lo

There are HDMI capture cards, but they are quite expensive…
