Black screen on the laptop? - 1

My new laptop arrived today and it only worked. Now the screen has suddenly gone black (but the keyboard and LEDs are lit). I opened and closed the laptop, connected it to the mains, removed the battery and reinserted it. What can I do?

New laptop? Then make use of your right of withdrawal if you have already tried such general things.

I also plan if it doesn't work. What happens to the things that I have loaded on it?
