Do you think it's good that a camera is built into every cell phone, tablet, laptop these days?

Do you think that is a good thing or do you have a few concerns if theoretically anyone who knows anything about hacking can penetrate your most private rooms unnoticed or secret services. I fondly remember the time when you still needed cameras to take pictures and video cameras went off from 1500 DM, which corresponded to almost a whole month's salary. Your opinion?

I think it's stupid. I also masked the cams on my cell phone because every now and then I click something at the most inopportune moments and the conference or call with video starts immediately. Unsuitable if you're sitting on the toilet or running half-naked through the booth. It's just annoying and I think it's stupid that you can't just turn off the cams. But I can live with the masking

With the things (cell phone anyway) you can make calls. Video telephony, what a step forward! Recognize not only the pitch, but also facial expressions of the other person, conduct video conferences. There are many advantages.

Disadvantage: You have already described it.

Way out: cover the camera, mask it off, etc. And only use it when necessary

If you think so… Who says that your cell phone won't bug you? O_O Do without the camera, then there's only one sound transmission from you!

Where you are and which movement profile you have is transmitted via GPS, etc… Who you talk to, write to and where you surf is also transmitted!

So: just do without your mobile phone and it's good! ^^ + gg

I've already received an email like this, if you google it, you'll find out that it is a scam bag and that such emails have been and are being sent en masse. This scam is m.M.n. One of the most disgusting attempts to get other people's money. Many responded to the request and partly transferred Thousands of Euro / Dollars, but that does not guarantee that the next blackmail mail will not be in the email folder the next day. My laptop camera has been taped up since day 1, I've never used it and will never make anything like an internet call in my entire life. I'm too old-fashioned for that (and super proud of it).

No, if it had been up to me, cams, at least on phones, could only have been "external accessories".

Then one could rightly assume with such devices a possible unauthorized filming or photography in public, if the lens is pointed at oneself.

The Schiet itself hardly costs anything nowadays as a USB add-on.

I'm only interested in "outside".

Indoor cameras that are not needed can simply be covered or masked on certain devices. In addition, a very simple mechanical switch on devices with Cam & Mike would be a practicable solution against any software remoting.
