Which shel code allows Ext-HD to boot the OS?

Very rarely I also need Windows, as a long-time Linux Mint user. Unscrewing the laptop and changing the hard drive every time is far too much work. I don't want to multiboot on my SSD, because I boot via LVM.

I don't have enough space on my small SSD for VirtualBox.

From the Raspberry Pi, I know that booting from harddisc or USB flash is possible, although never tried.

What can I do so that I can boot Windows from external HD?

If something needs to be changed in Grub, please provide instructions. There's no knowledge of this.

Yes, something has to be changed in GRUB.

Thank you very much. I can already tell when I read that I need a day off…
