I'm unfortunately a computer layman and hope someone can help me here. Have a laptop, still with Windows 7. If I now send a picture of my Huawei cell phone and want to open it, the following message comes up:
The image can't be displayed because there may not be enough memory available. Close unused programs or free up hard disk space…
I saved very little on my computer.
I get a similar message if I e.g. Want to open an Excel file in Windows Live Mail. Also an indication of insufficient memory. I can easily open the file on my desktop.
does anyone have a tip? If so, please describe for laypeople if possible.
Franke says thank you
Memory and memory are two different things. Your laptop probably has too little RAM go to a PC repair service and have a larger RAM installed in your laptop then you no longer have this problem.
Open the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and click on "Performance". What is under "RAM"?
4.42GB
At the top left under "RAM". Is it just 4.42GB or maybe there's 4.42GB / 8GB?
The first number is the RAM used and the second number is the total RAM installed in your laptop.
Opening a picture of your phone on your laptop should take a maximum of 0.1 GB. I can't imagine that less than that is free with you.
There's 4.42 GB, or 3.39 GB nothing else
