Can you still use this battery?

The battery of my laptop can no longer be fully charged (only up to approx. 79%) and becomes empty very quickly (about an hour). Can I still use it until there's a replacement, or don't I have to replace it because it's a different problem?

It's best to have the battery replaced or even buy a computer. Had the problem. Now I can only get my laptop up and running with a charging cable.

From personal experience, this does not have to be the case. I have the same problem, but I keep the laptop connected while I'm working.

Basically, you will still be able to use it. However, no guarantee that the battery will damage your device, which happens very rarely.

If you know it is broken, replace it. Also protect yourself from moments when you underestimate the remaining capacity of the battery in such a way that unsaved data is damaged due to the device going out promptly.

The battery will probably be quite old, but you can continue to use the device without problems and replace the battery at some point or replace the device at some point. If the battery has so little power, however, the device can suddenly switch off (due to insufficient voltage), which in theory can result in loss of data in the RAM (working memory).

1 hour is not that little, it can also happen that the battery is empty after a few minutes.

The device can be used without further notice. Check in your energy saving plans if "Balanced" is set, this will bring some runtime if this is not the case. And when it does not turn the display brightness to max. Because this is the biggest power guzzler.
