Before you say: Better take windows 10. "I have an older laptop and had Win10 on it, but it was hanging without end. Now to my question, someone has a clue how I can switch from Linux to Windows. I already have the ISO Downloader downloaded, but can't open it because it is an .exe file. Anyone know about it or can send me a current tutorial? Incidentally, have Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon.

So you want to have both systems on the laptop correctly, then you had to create a partition of the hard disk, then install Win2 on the second one, select it via the boot menu and select it, but I've heard that some had problems with it.

You can either download the "media creation tool" or the older "windows 7 usb dvd download tool" from MS and use it to create a bootable stick or dvd with your win 7 iso file on another windows computer.

then you let the notebook boot from this removable disk and follow the instructions.

Can't I switch completely from Linux to Windows?

po

Well, the clearest thing you can do is just need a boot disc from WIN 7

Oh ok, thank you very much!

Windows 7 support was completely discontinued earlier this year. The operating system no longer receives updates and possible existing security gaps are no longer closed. Gradually, more and more software manufacturers will stop supporting Windows 7. In your place, I would consider carefully whether you really want to switch to an "unsafe" OS.

I have already downloaded the ISO downloader, but can't open it because it is an .exe file.

You can also download the Windows 7 disk image for free from the WinFuture website. Then you simply write the image to a USB stick and use it to install Windows 7 on your notebook. I once linked the download to you.

If you have a license key for another Windows version, you only have to delete the file ei.cfg in the Sources folder. Download the image, then write it to a USB stick and then remove the ei.cfg file. If you install Windows 7 from a USB stick; the stick must be connected to a USB 2.0 port, since there are no USB 3.0 drivers in the image.

In the description it is clearly written that the questioner wants to switch from Linux to Windows. So he can't just download a tool like the Media Creation Tool for Windows.

Dr

Achso can do that clearly

With a dual or multiboot system, the Windows distribution should always be installed first so that the individual boot loaders do not get in each other's way.

Yes, right, but I misunderstood, but he only wants one system.
