Viruses from Android tablet to laptop?

I have a bug on my Samsung tablet and can probably only get it out by resetting to factory settings. Now I have a few photos on my tablet that I want to transfer to my laptop beforehand. But I'm not sure if the bug is caused by a virus. So I fear that this virus may also affect my laptop if I connect my tablet via USB. Is that possible?
