Is it worth investing 25 euro in an old laptop if you want to sell it?

I received the device a few weeks ago. Laptop is about 10 years old. Fully functional. Has been set up again and win 10 is also on it. The only drawback is the battery.

It should only run temporarily with me until I get something new, because I'm not yet sure what I really want and my other device gives up the ghost.

I myself only run the device on electricity.

Does a new battery increase the sales price significantly or is the investment a waste of money?

You can't say that directly, because you have a museum piece, so to speak. So the question is what the part is worth to you personally.

co

It's only 25 euro.

If you sell the device with a defective battery, it will bring you 25 or more thalers less. It's up to you alone.

However, this is not about a lot of money. Just do something. Gut feeling.

According to Ebay and co, the devices cost between 100 and 200 euro.

Gu

It's not worth it.

With a new battery you increase the retail value by maybe € 20, if at all.

Cl

If that's true, you could make a profit of 75 to 175 euro.

A new battery is still worthwhile here.

And yet you know it.

Transitional solutions have to last longer than new devices.

I don't think it's worth buying a new battery because it costs around 60 euro. The whole notebook is no longer worth that much.

Nevertheless, if you are lucky you can still charge up to 80 euro for the notebook as it is. There are always collectors looking for replacement parts. Specify the exact name and get rid of it.

Back then I got 60 euro for my defective Medion notebook that was 10 years old and it was really screwed.

ph

As I said, the battery costs around 25 euro and the devices are traded on eBay and co for 100-200 euro.

Al

I don't trust ebay, because these are the prices that are set and not at which it is sold. I would never want to spend 200 euro on a 10 year old notebook. Stupid who does that, because with 400 euro you get a good current and new one.
