Laptop 1 x HDMI via splitter two monitors with different displays?

Short question. My wife has a laptop with only 1 HDMI connection. Due to a training course, I would now like to connect to these other monitors.
is it possible to connect two monitors with different displays via an HDMI splitter or is the same picture on both monitors?
