I have a Wi-Fi repeater that runs under the same SSID and password as the original network. It works without any problems on the iPhone.
On the laptop (Windows 10), however, the following problem: The WLAN is recognized at full strength, but as soon as it connects to it, the signal is very bad. I suspect that he then has the connection to the original network, because it was just as weakly receivable before. Can I configure the network connection on the laptop so that the repeater signal is selected without changing the SSID of the repeater?
Since it works on the phone, I suspect it's a laptop configuration problem.
Either if fritzbox is available, activate mesh, because then the network will be expanded without loss.
or give the repeater another ssid.
Thanks for the answer, is not a FritzBox but a Lancom router. Do you happen to know if it also has the mesh function?
I don't know, I can see.
They don't exist with them.
Ok, then probably only the new SSID remains. Nevertheless many thanks!
No problem
