First of all: I have a Fritzbox 7490.
The problem: If I connect to the WLAN with smartphones (no matter what type) and I use apps such as YouTube on the Internet, the apps start to load after about a minute (until the timeout). When I restart the apps it works again very briefly and then again not (reconnecting to the Wi-Fi has the same effect) .However, some things like WhatsApp telephony actually always work even if other apps have problems at the same time. It's similar on a laptop, but I usually have to reconnect to the Wi-Fi there.
Incidentally, I never had this strange message "It may not be possible to connect to the Internet"…
Have now tried everything from VPN to changing from router DNS.
The problem has been going on for weeks and I'm starting to have no idea what else I can do…
Thank you in advance!
Ps. Sorry for the miserable spelling…
If it is actually the WLAN, you can use another channel or switch from 2.4GHz to 5GHz if it is possible and your devices support it
Change to 2.4 GHz and make 5 GHz. The flight radar is allowed to turn 5GHZ out, and it does that for me all the time. You can also see it in the log report.
It could be interference from neighbors on the same or rather neighboring channel if the problem does not also occur with LAN.
Otherwise, it's a case for support.
I've already tried that but thanks!
With 2.4GHZ I have the same problem
Ohh…
I'll try another channel today!
I didn't notice anything with Kan
Will try another janal today (keep up to date)
If this is really the case with all devices, I would check the connections with a PC / laptop via LAN cable.
We first have to find out whether it could be due to your internet provider or your Wi-Fi network.
So far I had no problems with LAN
I've also tested using other channels. Has brought nothing…
Unfortunately nothing helped… 😕
OK. - That actually limits it to the radio path.
In that case I would take a look in the admin area of the FritzBox to see how far other Wi-Fi networks or interference sources from the box were found.
You have a participant in the Wi-Fi network who is heavily used on the Internet. It could also be a neighbor in the same district. Then it is due to the poor local network, which the support should fix.
For me, the problem was solved by the fact that many people switched there after the introduction of fiber optics in the district and that my line has been better since then.
There are also times of day when the Internet as a whole can be slow:
Working days at 11 a.m. And 4-6 p.m.
Sunday morning at 7am when lots of people are asleep is a good time.
