Are my OpenOffice files gone after a windows 10 update?

I made a Windows 10 update on my laptop. After the update, all my OpenOffice files that I saved on the desktop were gone. Or rather, they are still there, but the folder is white and only has 1kb of memory. The previous versions of the files are all gone. And I can't open it either. The files were only saved on the desktop. Does anyone know if and or how I can save the files?

Desktop is a Windows system folder. If this was changed or deleted and recreated regardless of what caused it, the files on it are gone. Therefore you should never use the desktop as a storage folder for documents.

Is there a system restore in Win10? You can try to restore your system to the point in time before the update. Maybe it will help.

In my opinion, correct answer, that's how I would have answered. Can I save myself now. Greeting
