I bought Beats Wireless Studio 3 a week ago. This was a micro-USB cable which charges the headphones very fast.
However, I have used the cable today for my smartphone and this loads on the laptop also much faster than with another cable.
Does anyone know how that can be?

I suppose the charging speed was measured on time until fully charged, not on the current actually flowing through. Would mean that the battery in your headphones is simply smaller than a cell phone battery, thus has less capacity and thus can charge faster. The speed also depends at least as strong on your adapter.
My question was: HOW can a cable charge faster than another cable? That's usually the power supply, right?

The quick charger and headphones are identified by a data signature and the charger switches from 5 volts to 8 volts and charges faster.
Third-party devices are only charged with 5 volts.
