Must recover data from a said SSD. Is a hard drive on my laptop (Probook 450 5g). But I'm not sure if the fits in my M.2 slot in my stand PC.

It's not just about whether it fits into the slot, but also about whether your motherboard can handle NVMe SSD at all. Look in the motherboard manual, there are all specifications in it.

Maybe, but not necessarily. Most newer motherboards have M.2 NVMe, but many older motherboards do not. Therefore, one can't easily make a statement about it.

My mainboard: ASRock B450 Pro4 (90-MXB8B0-A0UAYZ)
m.2 has it but I'm not sure if it's the same

Your board has 2 M.2 slots, the OS can also boot from an M.2 NVMe SSD.

The form factor should fit, i. The card fits into the slot, take the M2_1 slot first. Since it sometimes does not work despite compatibility, but only remains to try - you can do nothing while testing.
