Remote Desktop works only sporadically?

My problem looks like this:

My parents have a shop and wanted to access the computer in the store from home.

I have the two Fritz boxes 7490 connected via the MyFritz VPN. Then I hosted a hotspot on my smartphone, connected the notebook to it and set up the VPN connection. The remote access to the computer worked perfectly up to here.

When I was at home with the notebook and wanted to test the connection, he also builds the VPN connection here again. Remote access does not work anymore.

I'm back in the store and have the target computer under "extended sharing settings" all shares set. Again Smartphone Hotspot ---> Remote works.

Back home ---> Remote does not work.

Does anyone happen to have an explanation for this?

- Both computers Windows 10

- VPN via FritzFernzugang

Bi

Both times Windows Pro?

IP fits? Firewall is set correctly?

Does Teamviewer work?

Ch

- Both Win 10 Pro

- TeamViewer works

- Is only Windows 10 firewall, with both devices the firewall is untouched. Why should the firewall cross over if it works over the hotspot of my smartphone?

Bi

Theoretically not, but I'd rather always check it out before I "must go" statements.

I think it has something to do with the VPN if the firewall fits. Because when testing you're not over the second Fritzbox gone, but by soft client. At least that's how I read it.

Ch

So your suggestion would be to turn off the firewall temporarily to see obs then goes?

Yes right in the test, I did not go over the fritzbox. Did the test almost on the front door of the store - hotspot on smartphone. From softclient never heard of sorry

Bi

Do not turn off the firewall, just allow rdp.

Since hakts probably more to the VPN settings of your second Fritzbox.

I recommend using TeamViewer.

I do not understand the role of the smartphone and the hotspot yet.

Both frits are coupled via VPN?

Are you trying to connect by name or IP?

Ch

From my smartphone, I hosted a mobile hotspot to virtually come from a foreign network in the internal network from the store.

With MyFritz it looks like this, the MyFritz account serves in the end only to the generation of a DynDNS-like address.

About the program "FritzFernzugang" then a config file is created which one must install in the router and in the notebook. The connection of the notebook to the internal network in the store is then made through the MyFritz account. From which network I would like to establish the connection is in the end no matter - the hotspot was only meant not to have to go home to test the connection.

But let alone the connection, the fact is that the VPN connection from home to the store does not work but the Remote Desktop function. And there I'm still puzzling.
