I have the Linux distro ElementaryOs. Everything except the video card works. How can I solve this?
Laptop: (hp-17-ca0007ng)
Did you also install the Linux drivers?
HP's PCs and laptops have a service number at the bottom of a sticker. This code usually gives you all the necessary drivers for this particular device.
Whether there are also Linux drivers, is unlikely. Maybe you will get an open source driver from the internet. Look for Linux drivers and the type of graphics card.
P.S. A joke on my https://www.gegsoft.de/gegfun/computer.htm#w6.
Whom everything stays dark, how do you realize that
Linux is installed correctly?
it is only on the graphics card?
So then you are only in text mode?
Please indicate exactly what does not work. If your GPU does not work, you should not be able to start a graphical interface. If this works, however, you would have to know what does not work with the graphics.
As far as I could find out, your notebook has a GPU built into the CPU (Radeon 5). A dedicated GPU "graphics card" is not installed in your HP notebook.
Actually, your system should run smoothly with the Opensource video drivers installed when you installed Elementary OS on your system.
