My laptop has 128 mb vram
the game needs 2gb vram
can the game still play smoothly does anyone know why?
Is swapped out to RAM. What game is it about and what GPU do you have?
Maybe your graphics are at the lowest settings. You can use more Vram than you have. Then it could jerk a little.
Unfortunately, you keep both your system and the game in question from us. Then the scale ranges from "Information is incorrect / misspelled" to "It is a miracle. A miracle! Praise the Lord!"
128mb vram seems to me already questionably small. I would have to assume a good 15 year old notebook. And that would probably have enough other shortcomings.

Unfortunately, you have not given any further information about your hardware, so you can't give an exact answer.
But since your device has so little, I guess it's very old. Current office PCs / laptops usually already have 2 GB.
You don't get 2 gigabytes in 128 megabytes - that's for sure.
Correct - if this is actually still a 128MB VRAM card, then the VRAM should also be the least problem in terms of performance.
