Hello everyone who reads this! My name is Maik and I come from Hamburg and have one or two small problems with my MSi GT70.

Hardware: i7 4800MQ GTX870M 3GB 8Gb Ram Samsung 840 Evo 120GB 1TB secondary disk

Now wanted to stream games ala. Diablo 3 but somehow the FPS drop so emens that it's no fun. Now I wanted to ask if someone knows an external streaming option.

Avermedia Game Capture HD II Elgato Game Capture

I've already found it but there's always something about PS3.4 / Xbox etc.

Can the hardware also be used for streaming from a laptop or are there better solutions (ideally internal Mini Pci Express)?

or can I somehow use a second laptop to stream?

I ask for a quick answer because if that works with Elgato etc. I'll go out tomorrow and buy it.

The capture card is basically a shelf soft device you select as the image source. But you should keep in mind that you should ideally also need a second computer to encode the stream over it. Otherwise the computationally demanding task of encoding stuck on your laptop and you had (almost) won nothing.

Alternatively, you can first deal with the OBS settings. If your CPU is not able to compute the game and video at the same time, you should try out the NVENC encoder, which stores the video encoding on the graphics card, which usually brings a better performance. Reducing the stream quality also relieves your hardware.

In short: you can't stream with your laptop!

To put it long: a capture card alone wouldn't do you any good. This only serves to pick up a picture and sound source from a device in order to display it from another device which is connected to it.

Either way you need a 2nd PC. A laptop is basically not suitable for streaming, just because of the waste heat. What you would need would be a full-fledged streaming PC.

such a structure looks like this:

Device 1 (e.g. Console) >> Capture Card >> Streaming PC
Gaming PC >> Capture Card >> Streaming PC

There are 2 types of capture cards. Internal or external.
