Out of date, good enough for old games or office.

Ha

Not my case…

Oa

Totally inharmonious hardware combination. What do you want with 24 GB of ram? That doesn't make the old processor and graphics any better.

In 2013/2014 such an iteration was state of the art for notebooks for a short time, and the GTX 780m was also the fastest graphics unit for mobile solutions on the market for a short time.

As was already foreseeable during the development of Intel's Core i processor series, the i7-4720HQ with its 4 cores / 8 threads was able to hold its own very well in the upper segment until around 2016/2017 and was only made possible by AMD Ryzen 4xxxM and Intel Core 7000M / 8000M outclassed in midfield. In addition to the sometimes significantly higher clock rates and the noticeably better IPC performance with the same TDP, the Intel Core 8th came with it. Gene. And Ryzen 4000m is offering the first 6-core processors in the mainstream for upper-class notebooks.

The GTX 780M (Kepler / GTX 680 derivative) had to leave considerably more feathers in the course of developments on the graphics card market. This formerly proud card can now only be roughly classified between a GTX 750Ti (Maxwell 1.0) and the GTX 1050 (Pascal). In the last 6-7 years, a lot has changed in terms of (mobile) graphics performance.

In addition to the Geforce GTX 980 (for the DTR at that time), Nvidia was able to implement the desktop graphics chips of the same name almost 1: 1 in notebooks for the first time with the Pascal chips of the Geforce 1x00 series without technical cuts and sometimes drastic clock reductions.

Since the GTX 780m was integrated in the book in MXM plug-in card format, it would in principle also be interchangeable. There's a GTX 1060M - MXM in the bay e.g. Already just under 300 euro.
