Mobile phone with laptop power adapter?

I have only my power supply from the laptop and my phone is almost empty. Both are charged via USB C, now my question would be I can load my phone with the power adapter of the laptop or is the phone broken?

Ex

Should not be a problem. USB-C is USB-C.

The nice thing about the reasonably modern plug formats is that everything that is mechanically compatible also has to be electrically compatible.

Charging a laptop with a cell phone charger could be tricky because the power adapter probably does not have enough power for it, but the way you want to do it must be done.

Di

Such a nonsense, if the performance of the laptop charging cable is too high, then this can damage the battery or the charging socket.

Ex

No. If the voltage is too high that can be a problem. But USB always has 5V. Always, without exception.

How much amperes is called up depends on the consumer.

Or do you think all USB devices draw the same amount of power when you infect them to the PC / laptop?

sn

I tried that with the USB plug of a room well, which had the same connection as the mobile phone.

The phone immediately gave a message that the voltage was too high and you should remove the cable.

Whether your cellphone warns you, I do not know. Anyway, I would be careful.

Why then do fast charging cables destroy devices that are not designed for them?

Re

Can you use. But note that a tablet charger often provides a higher current (A / h or mA / h), then it is a "fast charge" which puts more strain on the battery.

Ex

And the answer is this: Because I've forgotten idiot, that there are 12v fast charging cable.

USB ports on the PC only switch to 12V if the connected device requests it, not all power supplies are so smart.

But devices that have properly implemented USB-C should be able to handle it, even if that means that they will issue an error message and then just do not load it.

Sorry. My mistake.

Yes, USB ports on the PC, but it is indeed the charging cable of the laptop itself meant. My laptop charging cable has an output of 19V and my charging cable for the phone 5V. If I charge my phone with my laptop charging cable, I can't imagine that will work out. The connection is no guarantee.
