Why does not my new Telekom Router indicate WLAN?

I have a while ago a supposedly better router (Speedport Smart) worried by the telecom. The stupid thing is that the router shows me no Wi-Fi signal. I have already tried DSL help with this app, but it does not work. When I connect my laptop directly to the router directly with a LAN cable, I'm online with the router, but my desk is in a completely different room. What to do?

Presumably, WLAN is simply either switched off, or suppressed via configuration menu (no SSID broadcasting). Which LEDs are on, and what is displayed in the configuration menu / WLAN, if you connect to the router via LAN cable?
