So one thing should be clear from the start;
With a simple LAN cable you can usually get further than with the Wi-Fi. The LAN drivers on your motherboard are mostly standard drivers that are recognized and installed by Windows during the installation. So normal LAN should always work.
If you have connected a normal LAN, you can download and install the WLAN drivers via the browser.
No USB stick necessary.
