My laptop only has an HDMI 1.4b connection. I want to play games like fifa 21 and Borderlands 1-3, Bioshock etc., so no shooters like Overwatch or Call of Duty, on the TV, but there's a noticeable input delay which does not happen with the integrated laptop screen. The graphics are set at 1080p 60fps
Is there a way to circumvent this input delay? Or is the problem with the TV, which is 7 years old and bought it for 800euro (42 inches, that's why I think it's cheap).
The transfer rate is probably too low. It could be that the cable is too slow or the television can't pick up the signals as quickly or the laptop simply outputs the data too slowly. Maybe when it's last you should turn it off for the laptop screen.
Can be because of the television. I also have a laptop with an hdmi and use it to play games on the external screen and there's no lag.
If I connect it to the TV with the same cable, however, I have a delay of maybe half a second.
I would recommend that you test on other screens to see whether there's also the delay or, if possible, with other computers on your television. Then you know for sure where and how much delay is coming from and you can then make the best decision.
It's on the TV.
Should I then buy a new hdmi cable? The playstation can't be better than my laptop because mine is a 2020 model and has a dedicated graphics card (mx330), this graphics card will probably only get fifa to run in a stable 60fps 1080p but what the heck fifa plays the main role here anyway. So far I only have borderlands 2 and 30 fps without the fan becoming noticeably loud. I want to buy the other games.
If the HDMI cable works with the Playstation, then that shouldn't be a problem. Then try turning off the laptop screen, if that doesn't work it is probably the television that is too old
Is there additional hardware (cable adapter or similar) that fixes the problem?
