As briefly written above, I have some viruses on my laptop. If I use the Remove All and Reinstall Windows tool, will my laptop be completely rebuilt and will my laptop be free of four again?
Jup. Everything is completely new
To 99.9999% yes. There's also an extremely low chance that the virus is on the CPU or on the mainboard. If the laptop (actually the motherboard) is from asus, the chance is about 99.999% that you'll get rid of it, so yes.
Yes, from Asus, thank you.
Oops, wrongly typed "helpful." So on the CPU there's no permanent memory because no programs like viruses can nest.
Also on the motherboard there's no memory area. The only thing that keeps viruses permanently stored is the hard disk - if these are deleted, viruses disappear from the disk as well.
Here is the Wikipedia article on the incident with Asus. It's interesting, even if it's not likely to affect you.
In March 2019,
https://en.wikipedia.org/...persky_Lab researchers disc losed a https://en.wikipedia.org/...ain_attack did affected the Asus Live Update software bundled on its laptops, dubbed Shadow hammer. Kaspersky stated that between June and November 2018, Asus servers had been compromised to distribute a modified version of Live Update, signed with an Asus https://en.wikipedia.org/..._signature, that contained a https://en.wikipedia.org/...computing). It deployed a further payload if the device's network adapter matched to an internal target of 600 https://en.wikipedia.org/...AC_address. In response to ShadowHammer, Asus released a patched version of Live Update with improved security measures. Kaspersky and Symantec estimated that 500,000 and 1 million devices were infected with the backdoor, although Asus attempted to downplay the severity of the breach by noting the extremely targeted nature of the attack. The breach did not affect the similar, identically-named software used to update drivers and the BIOS on systems using its motherboard products.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asus#cite_note-73 https://en.wikipedia.org/...te_note-74 https://en.wikipedia.org/...te_note-75
You can also create a Kaspersky Rescue Bootstick to get rid of it. The stick should be created on another computer that is not infected. It works like this:
Install this tool: https://www.balena.io/...io/etcher/ This allows you to create bootable sticks.
Download the Kaspersky Rescue Disk ISO: https://support.kaspersky.com/de/viruses/krd2018
Then flash the downloaded ISO with the installed tool on an empty formatted USB stick.
Then boot the created stick on the infected computer and scan it.
