Send laptop internationally?

I'm in Japan until July and unfortunately didn't have space for my laptop in my suitcase or hand luggage. Now I realize that I can't completely do without what I had hoped for and I wanted my family to send him behind. Unfortunately there are quite strict regulations regarding the air delivery of lithium ion batteries and I have more or less given up on being able to comply with them as a private customer. DHL, as far as I've read, hardly leaves anything like that. Only UPS seems a little more relaxed, but I doubt that I can get my family to do all the paperwork.

My real question now is: If it is really just a matter of shipping the lithium ion batteries, can't you remove them from the laptop beforehand and indicate on the packaging that the battery is not included?

If the battery can be removed, this can be noted and the goods can then be insured and given to the service provider.

It would then be possible to determine whether a battery is present or not at the latest when it is examined - if the declaration is incorrect, problems can arise.
