I just reset my laptop or a few hours ago and said that it should delete everything.
now when reinstalling the data is still available.
would like to reset it as if I were just turning it on for the first time. Know me zero in the whole PC industry from therefore this stupid question

nh has an idea what it could be? I'm 100% sure that I clicked on delete everything completely, but as I said, pictures are still there, video, background image. Something can't work there 😅

To the best of my knowledge, if you sign in with the same Microsoft account after the reset, the desktop background is saved or restored, among other things. At least once it was the case with me that the background was there again. I'm not sure what else will be restored, but if all of the programs you installed are gone, I guess the procedure will have worked.

For the future, I recommend that you always do a clean reinstallation. Basically, you could do this all over again now if you want to make sure everything is removed. The reinstallation is usually done in a few minutes. If you use the reset function that is offered under Windows, the process often takes significantly longer.

Software pre-installed by the laptop manufacturer would then have to be downloaded again if something was available when you bought the device that you need. You may also need to manually install a few drivers. The drivers and software can be downloaded from the laptop manufacturer's website.

If you have Windows 10, which I assume, you can use Microsoft's Media Creation Tool to create an installation disk (DVD or USB stick) for Windows: https://www.microsoft.com/.../windows10

Run the program and follow all the steps. With a DVD, it just downloads an ISO file that you still need to burn. There's the option "Burn disk image" directly under Windows if you right-click on the downloaded ISO file.

If you choose a USB stick instead, you just have to follow all the steps and at the end you have a usable stick for reinstallation.

Then boot from the created installation disk by inserting the DVD into the drive or inserting the USB stick into one of your USB slots and then restarting your laptop. If your laptop starts up as usual, you have to change the boot sequence in the BIOS beforehand: https://praxistipps.chip.de/...ehts_10161

Then follow all steps of the installation process. Select Custom as the installation type and delete all existing partitions in the partition manager. Remember that everything will be deleted! If there's a partition called "Recovery" or something like that, which is usually present on laptops, you do not necessarily have to delete it. Unless you don't need them anyway, which is the case with me. I don't need them because I always do new installations from a data carrier and the recovery partitions are usually out of date.

At the end there should only be one entry with unallocated space. Possibly two if two hard drives are installed. In such a case then select the desired hard drive for the installation

You now go to "Next" at the bottom right, whereupon the installation begins. The rest is then self-explanatory.

Thank you very much for the detailed answer. I'll do it tomorrow ^^
