Restore matte surface of a laptop?

I have a new laptop. This usually has a matte finish. Now it happened that somebody painted on it with his pencil and thought it was a good idea to erase that. Now I have an ugly spot on my "laptop lid", can I somehow remove it? I've already tried to remove it with some water and detergent, but that's not all. It has not gotten any better or worse. I would have to roughen the place somehow, but I do not know how I can do that without causing more damage.

It would be great if I could get that back with your help.

You have already grasped the situation correctly => you should actually roughen the place, because a smooth surface is never dull!

The problem is that you will not succeed.

Justification:

Spodrepair will barely succeed as a layman without you seeing no transition afterwards
with sanding you have no chance to get the structure like the rest of the surface, there will be sanding marks & holograms that make your work visible in the long term.
the entire laptop, depending on the damaged spot position, with 600 sandpaper roughen, make with silicone remover dust / grease-free and paint surface with matt lacquer would go; questionable whether the effort is worth + how well you can paint with the spray can.
Alternatively, I think of spray film from the automotive sector, but would have previously roughened large area and sprayed on. On the laptop lid on the outside sure no problem, elsewhere too much action.
