Explanation of John Cage's work 4'33?

For a task I have to explain the work "4'33" "by John Cage. I have listened to it once, but haven't heard anything.

Could it be that my laptop is broken or something is wrong with my ears.

If the piece is really a piece of music without noise, can someone explain it to me or explain it meaningfully?

You heard correctly (sorry for the pun.), The piece consists ONLY of pauses in the musical text. Incidentally, 4'33 stands for the total length of all sentences of 4 minutes and 33 seconds.
