Laptop after (probably) a short circuit broken?

So before I start I want to say that I'm probably the stupidest person in the world. I wanted to charge my laptop at night (when I was completely tired), because the charger accidentally came into contact with a usb port, there was so sparkle with the usb port and since then my laptop has not been working. However, if I want to charge the laptop normally, the LED lights up, which indicates that the laptop is charging, so I think that the charging cable can't be broken.

do you think that my laptop broke completely, so the mainboard and such?

Have you tried switching the device on and off?

Can't say far away. Of course there can always be unfavorable combinations…

Can the battery be removed? If so, I would do it. Also do not connect a power supply and press the power button to discharge the laptop. Then wait a few minutes (up to 20 minutes) and try again (with electricity).

There are e.g. Self-resetting fuses in devices that need to cool down until they are conductive again. Or electronics that have to reset…

The power supply could also have something like this. It's best to unplug and wait…

I can't help the laptop here at first, but maybe you…

you are not the stupidest person in the world. You're a bit clumsy person - like we're all. I as well!

kmkcl has already given a very good tip. I don't consider the chances that this will work out particularly well, but it is all worth a try.

if you have data on the device that is important, you can remove the hard drive and use e.g. Connect an adapter cable to another computer to save your data.

Yes of course
