When I open a document on my new laptop (despite downloading the Open Office package, a pop-up with "Register to set up Office" always appears. This overlays the document and I can't edit it. The selection "I do not want to register create an account "does not respond.
In the next step, the pop-up wants a license number and the next window says "I agree to the license agreement".
How do I get rid of this so that I can work with Open Office?
On the one hand, I would look in the list of installed programs to see if you can find a corresponding entry. If so, then uninstall the relevant program. On the other hand, you can also check the Autstart group to see whether you can find an entry there. If so, I would remove it and restart the computer.
Thank you. But doesn't this also automatically delete the "Micosoft Edge" browser?
No, that has nothing to do with it.
What is the program called? "Microsoft One Drive"? Here are some Microsoft programs on it. Sorry, I'm pretty naked
Install this tool: https://www.revouninstaller.com/de/revo-uninstaller-free-download/ The freeware version is sufficient. This can be used to uninstall pre-installed programs.
Instead of OpenOffice, I would prefer to use LibreOffice, which is 100% compatible with OpenOffice and, in contrast, is constantly being further developed. It has the same requirements as OpenOffice: https://de.libreoffice.org/...ffice.org/
Operation is also identical to OpenOffice.
Thank you. I'll try that out right away!
That worked out great.
