Transfer movies from dvd player to pc?

My new laptop has no dvd drive. I would like to transfer my videos / photos from the dvd player to the laptop, is that possible, and if so, how?

Is not legal, even if you have a drive, because of copy protection.

You can use it to play the DVDs on your laptop.

Or connect the laptop to your network and simply share the corresponding folders on the PC (with a DVD drive).

Then you can simply copy / move the data over the network.

If you do this on both devices, you can access the other from both devices.

Or use a large USB stick or a USB HDD for data exchange.

Then you need an external drive to transfer the data to the computer

Thanks for the info, didn't know that there was such a thing. I only have the laptop, no pc.
