Clean program to PC?

I wanted to ask if there's a program that cleans my laptop from old useless files and increases the performance? Without of course essential files and programs to delete! Unfortunately, I'm totally ignorant and do not want to get me a virus or Trojan! All right, a program that costs something. But of course, preferably little or free!

Since you call yourself "ignorant," I advise you against any of these tools. They do more damage than they help if handled improperly.

Use the uninstall function of the operating system for unnecessary programs, perform a drive cleanup (right-click on the drive in the Explorer - Properties - Clean up) and delete the trash.

I always use the program WinOptimizer (in the free edition). A very good short description can be found here: https://www.esm-computer.de/magazin/gewusst-wie/hilfe-mein-pc-ist-ploetzlich-so-langsam/

The blog of ESM I find generally not bad for PC beginners.

In addition, you can look through the list of your installed programs and uninstall everything you no longer need. One does not even believe how much scrap accumulates on its hard drive over the years.

If you do not have a SSD installed, but a "normal" hard drive, then a so-called defragmentation can also bring a significant speed boost.

For defragmentation, you can right-click on the drive, then Properties, Tools and Optimization.

Have fun with your computer!

There are many different ways. You have to do most of that yourself.

First, you go to your program list. This is what you do with Win + R. There will open a window in which you enter Appwiz.cpl, then you confirm and directly into your programs and features.
There you uninstall any program you no longer need or no longer use.
Note that you should not delete programs such as Microsoft Visual C ++, graphics and audio drivers, because you still need them for games.

Then you can download https://www.ccleaner.com/...e/ccleaner to delete temporary files, browser history and a lot of other stuff you do not need. Make sure you do not delete something you might not need again. You can also clean the registry in CCleaner.

In CCleaner you can also clean up the startup of programs under Tools. There you can usually deactivate everything. Note here that you do not disable any important programs. Programs like Steam, Skype, Discord, CCleaner can be deactivated. This works under Win10 also in the Taskmanager or under Win7 in the msconfig. (Enter Win + R msconfig)

Now we can also clean up windows ourselves. Go to press Win + R again and enter cleanmgr. Now a window opens where you select C: \. There you can now press clean system files. Now you can also select Windows update files that you can also delete.

Once you have done this you can reboot.

It also does not bother to run the https://de.malwarebytes.com/...dwcleaner/ of Malwarebytes over it. This finds malware that could also slow down your laptop.

Since you use a laptop, you can also change the power options. Again Win + R and this time enter powercfg.cpl. For example, you could choose Balanced if you have not already done so.

Did you do all this you can, if you use an HDD (which I suspect), this sometimes defragment. To do this, we open the command prompt as an administrator.
For example, enter cmd in the start menu. There, the command prompt is displayed on which we exercise a right-click and start as an administrator. There you can now enter defrag / c / w to completely defragment any hard disk. This can take a few hours. Do not close the window. It is best if you run the defragmentation overnight.

That would be the simplest thing you can do for now.

Thank you for taking the time and effort to answer me in such detail! That really helped me!

Never mind.
