Which office version do I need as a student?

Hi, I'm currently doing my Master and need Office every day. Now I have a new laptop and need a new office because on the old laptop Office 2006 was on it and I have neither the key nor the dvd. Since I have now bought a few cheap keys and all did not work (for example, professional Plus Key is not intended for the standard consumer). Now I want to try the ones on the official site. However, I'm not aware of which version I can use the best and cheapest. Are the monthly prices tied to a 1 year subscription and can you use the key on another PC? Would be cool if someone gives me some tips.

there are different versions: standard, professional (plus), etc.

the versions differ in the programs that are there. In the standard you have word, excel, outlook in it, that's enough for most people.

if you know which version you need you can still consider whether you want to buy the program (pay once a little more money) or rent in abo model - costs a little less and you can automatically always use the latest version, both for windows and for mac.

The office 365 is also available as a 5 user package. Costs about 90 euro a year and may be used for 5 users (from flesh and blood) up to 5 per user.

Save as, format I have set to "Microsoft Office", that fits then already.

It was too stupid for me to buy a new Microsoft Office with every new PC. Because license refers to PC.

With Google Docs and Libre Office (both for free).

Otherwise, buy a key for Office 365 or Office 2016. They are already on eBay for a few euro.
